Mr. Lekishon Kenana is Deputy Director of Conservation Science at the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), where he leads national research and monitoring efforts across diverse wildlife ecosystems. 

With a strong background in ecology, wildlife management, and applied conservation science, he brings decades of experience integrating technology and policy to improve biodiversity outcomes. As Co-PI, Mr. Lekishon Kenana will provide high-level coordination with KWS and ensure that the project aligns with Kenya’s national conservation priorities. Mr. Lekishon Kenana’s expertise in population dynamics, climate impacts, and ecological monitoring will strengthen the interpretation and application of genomic data for coral conservation. His position at KWS will be instrumental in supporting policy translation, enabling strategic access to permits, and facilitating real-time uptake of project outputs by government agencies and protected area managers.
